Terms of Use

Last updated: 27 August 2026

These terms govern your use of the Eastbourne Sussex School of Business & Economics ("ESBE") learning platform. By creating an account or using the platform you agree to them.

1. Your account

  • You must provide accurate information when registering, including your legal name and identity details.
  • Your account is personal. Sharing login credentials or allowing another person to complete learning or assessments on your behalf is prohibited and may lead to deactivation.
  • You are responsible for keeping your password confidential. Tell us immediately if you believe your account has been compromised.

2. Course materials

  • Course content — videos, presentations, documents, and assessments — is provided for your personal study only.
  • You may not copy, redistribute, publish, resell, or share course materials outside the platform without written permission from ESBE.
  • Access to courses lasts for the period of your enrolment.

3. Assessments and certificates

  • Assessments must be completed by you alone, within the attempt limits and time limits shown in the platform. See the Academic Integrity policy for full rules.
  • Certificates are issued after all completion requirements are met and reviewed. Each certificate carries a unique number verifiable at /verify.
  • ESBE may withdraw a certificate that was obtained through malpractice.

4. Acceptable use

You must not attempt to gain unauthorised access to the platform, interfere with its operation, upload malicious content, or use it for any unlawful purpose. We record security-relevant events (such as logins) to protect the platform and its users.

5. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or deactivate accounts that breach these terms, including for academic malpractice, misuse of materials, or security violations. Where reasonable, we will tell you why and give you an opportunity to respond through the complaints procedure.

6. Liability

We provide the platform with reasonable skill and care. We are not liable for interruptions outside our control, though we take backups and security measures to protect your records. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

7. Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the platform after an update constitutes acceptance. The date above shows the current version.
