Assessment & Academic Integrity Policy
Last updated: 27 August 2026
ESBE awards are evidence of genuine learning. This policy sets out the rules that protect the integrity of our assessments and the value of every certificate we issue. The platform enforces these rules automatically wherever possible.
1. Identity
- Students verify their identity at registration with national ID and university ID documents, reviewed by staff before enrolment.
- All learning and assessment must be completed by the account holder personally. Impersonation is malpractice.
2. Assessment rules
- Admission assessments are taken under a time limit with a fixed number of attempts. Additional attempts are granted only by staff decision, and every grant is recorded.
- Module quizzes have configured pass marks and attempt limits.
- Final assessments are timed, have attempt limits, and must be passed before a certificate can be requested.
- Course projects (where applicable) must be your own work and are individually reviewed by staff before approval.
- Progress through learning materials is measured by the platform (time spent and completion tracking). Attempting to bypass progress tracking is malpractice.
3. Malpractice
The following are treated as academic malpractice:
- Having another person complete any part of your learning or assessment.
- Sharing assessment questions or answers with other students.
- Submitting work that is not your own (plagiarism) in projects.
- Attempting to manipulate the platform, progress records, or results.
4. Consequences
Confirmed malpractice may lead to failed results being recorded, withdrawal of certificates, account deactivation, and notification of relevant partner institutions. Decisions are recorded, and every administrative action on results is captured in the platform's audit trail.
5. Fairness and review
Staff decisions on assessments (including granting retries and reviewing projects) are logged with the identity of the decision-maker. If you believe a decision is wrong, you may challenge it through the Complaints & Appeals procedure.
